The brand's founder was one of the well-known “Antwerp Six”, a group of avant-garde fashion designers who graduated from Antwerp's prestigious Royal Academy of Fine Arts. Dirk Bikkembergs stood out for his innovative, provocative collections, built around a vision of the modern man: strong, healthy and confident.

A pioneer of the fusion between fashion and sport, Bikkembergs built a strong connection with the world of football, becoming the first brand to stage shows in the football stadiums of Milan and Barcelona. The brand was also official designer for Inter Milan and responsible for the formalwear of Málaga and of the Slovenian national team.
